Welcome to the V.B.S. page for First Lutheran Church in Longmont. 2012 will be out 5th year using the Easy V.B.S. program from Group Publishing. We like the Group program for many reasons, but one of the biggest ones is that it just simply works! Children go home singing songs and they know that God loves them, no matter what!
There are two sections of V.B.S. at First Lutheran Church, Preschool and Elementary. The Preschool is for children who are at least 3 years old and potty trained. The elementary section is for children who will be entering 1st grade in the fall of 2012 through children entering 5th grade in the fall. Children who will be entering 6th grade or older are welcome and encouraged to be Assistant Crew Leaders and Crew Leaders. Check out the volunteer page for more information.
Due to the size of our facility, we need to limit the number of participants in each section. We would love to just keep adding more children, but our building can only safely handle about 200 kids.
Preschool is limited to 50 children
Elementary is limited to 150 children
Any child is welcome to participate for free at First Lutheran’s V.B.S.! However, it does cost about $25 per child for all the supplies, decorations and snacks. We would appreciate any donation you can make of time, materials or money. Thanks!
Volunteer Information
As you can imagine, when we have close to 200 children participating we need many, many, many volunteers! We need Crew Leaders, Station Leaders, Music Leaders, Storytellers, and more! In fact we need some many different kinds of leaders that we made a page that is just filled with job descriptions and then another whole page to show what positions need to be filled. Check out the Volunteer Pages and even register to volunteer online!
Our goal over the next 3 months is to fill every empty square on the volunteer board in the narthex at First Lutheran, that’s about 70 people! Sign up online to help, or write you name on the volunteer list at First Lutheran.
More information will be added as we keep putting SKY V.B.S together over the next few months. Check back often!
